My brother had come over for dinner. Missy was in the kitchen finishing things up, and he and I were at the dining room table. Sary came running up and in mostly gibberish said "Blah blah blah blah bug?" (When she says bug it's more like bukch, ending in a back of the throat sort noise like she's coughing something up.)
She then pointed up at the chandelier. I looked up at the chandelier and sure enough there was a bug flying around. She repeated herself and then tiuched the side of her nose.
"What?" I said.
"Blah blah blah blah bug?" And she did the same thing, point at the bug then touch the side of her nose.
"Oh, is the bug going to land on your nose?"
At that her eyes got really big, she turned 90 degrees to her right, and bolted out of the room as fast as her litle legs could carry her. She ran to Mommy and hid behind her legs. My brother yelled "Heck no it's not!" which I think was a perfect translation of what she was thinking.
After I stopped laughing I caught the bug and Sary watched as I let it go out the front door.
"Bye bye bug!"

That is one of my favorite stories but that is because I remember the look on her face.
ReplyDeleteAwww...That's just so cute! Little girls are really cute when it comes to the bug fears. I, however, was the one killing the bugs for my brother. I'd hear a scream and would have to kill it or get rid of it for him. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's been a whole year! I want more cute stories!!!
