What's on EV?

Sary loves to watch TV (or EV as she calls it in her adorable two year old words).  I know that can be a shameful thing for a parent to admit, but we at least have her watching educational things.  She watches a lot of Nick Jr.  She likes Ni Hao Kai-Lan, Yo Gabba Gabba, the Wonder Pets (Mommy's favorite), and Sesame Street (if it was good enough for me, it's good enough for her!)

I was working late one night and Missy decided to put a show on for her so she could get dinner started.  In addition to what's on in that time slot, we also keep the most current week of Sesame Street DVR'd.  She likes to watch them, and it helps keep things a little less repetitive for Mommy and Daddy.  So Missy asks her "Sary, what do you want to watch on TV?"

Sary thought about it for a moment and answered "Daddy?"

Missy had been expecting an answer like Elmo.  Sary however thought it would be fun to see Daddy on TV.  So Missy said "Daddy's not on TV.  What else would you like to watch?"

Sary thought again before answering "Bobots?" her word for robots.

Missy laughed, and not having any shows about Daddy or Bobots DVR'd ended up putting on Sesame Street.  And Sary was just fine with that too.

I thought it was a fantastic peek at how kids view the world.  Ask an adult what they want to watch on TV, and they'll list you a couple of shows they like.  Ask a two year old, and they'll tell you the things they want to watch, not necessarily the things that are available.

  1. Hey Bro,

I am like Sary. I don't like what is available on tv (EV) most of the time. A good suggestion I have is to have Netflix. I watch the instant play options. You can use your imagination and pick whatever it is you want to watch, search, choose and play. I love documentaries and have watched many in my evenings (and days now).

  2. I am always surprised by kids. I babysit a lot and have seen a lot of amazingly cute things! I hope you don't mind me commenting, but it was just too cute not too. She sounds just adorable!
